Why Will? is a Denver-based Folk Rock & Slow Core fusion project with 90s pop grunge sensibility. They are a lean but energetic act featuring lead guitar and vocals by William Johnson and bass play by Matthew Dean. While drums are not featured, the rhythm section is bolstered via kick drum (Dean) and keyboard (Johnson). They will fit on any stage and pair well with psychedelic rock, shoegaze, and alternative acts.

Currently, Why Will? has two albums available on Spotify (averaging 1.5k ORGANIC monthly listeners) and is working on a third album. 

 

The band has been featured on The Kinda Vague Radio Podcast (Kinda Vague Records), Ariel’s Entertainment Podcast (more than 10,000 followers), and is in regular rotation on K4CO Radio. 

 

Johnson and Dean are already seasoned live performers and not yet high school graduates. Veteran musicians in the Denver scene have taken an active interest in mentoring them as protégés. Will Johnson is also a student at The Macy-Naszkowski School of Art Music. 

 

Why Will? Is currently preparing for its first tour immediately following its high school graduation.
